San Francisco, CA — EMERGENZ, a nonprofit dedicated to innovating emergency and disaster response through technology and collaboration, proudly announces that Allied Rescue & Emergency Services International (ARES) has officially joined the EMERGENZ federation as part of the EMERGENZ Response Hub.

Founded in 2010 in the wake of the Haitian earthquake, ARES was formed by a coalition of emergency medical, rescue, and disaster response professionals committed to delivering supplemental medical support, rescue services, and post-disaster recovery efforts. With a track record of deploying in response to natural disasters, offering medical intelligence briefings, and advancing emergency services education, ARES became a formally incorporated nonprofit in 2019. Despite challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization’s mission and impact endured.

In 2024, ARES voted to perform a merger with EMERGENZ, recognizing the shared vision of collaborative response, operational innovation, and mutual support. This partnership marks a major milestone in the expansion of EMERGENZ’s federated model—designed to unify independent emergency service organizations under a common structure while preserving local identity and expertise.

EMERGENZ is honored to bring ARES into the EMERGENZ family. Their experience, legacy, and commitment to boots-on-the-ground response aligns perfectly with our mission. As an integral part of EMERGENZ Response, we’ll ensure that skilled, capable teams like ARES not only survive but thrive in today’s rapidly evolving emergency services and disaster response landscape.

As part of the EMERGENZ Response Hub, ARES will benefit from centralized support in logistics, grant development, and program infrastructure, allowing it to reestablish operational readiness and contribute to national and international response efforts. Collaborative initiatives include the development of the Mass Care Logistics Support Program (MCLSP),  Specialty Emergency Apparatus Program (SEAP), and scalable disaster response teams. ARES experience in providing Medical Intelligence and Disaster Assessments greatly contributes to EMERGENZ Response’s capabilities, and we look forward to strengthening those capabilities and continuing to put them to good use.

EMERGENZ is actively seeking partnerships, funding, and volunteers to expand its mission of providing technology-enabled support at the intersection of healthcare, public health, public safety, and disaster operations. The federation continues to grow, with additional affiliates in education, mental health, and systems innovation expected to join in the coming year.

EMERGENZ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building a resilient, technology-driven emergency services ecosystem. Through its federation model, EMERGENZ connects diverse organizations under a shared mission to enhance emergency response and public health through collaboration, innovation, and community empowerment.
